Voces y Manos envisions a just world in which all people can live in good health, allowing them to reach their full potential. Health will no longer be deteriorated by poverty and exploitation, but rather promoted through social justice. In the world we envision, individuals will be empowered to sustain the health of their communities and the environment, transforming cycles of disease into health, violence into peace, oppression into freedom.

Voces y Manos’ mission is to empower communities to sustain their own health. We do this by meeting immediate health needs and empowering individuals through education to remove systemic barriers to health.
To meet immediate health needs, we partner with marginalized communities in Guatemala to expand access to medical care and foster participation in community health programs. We help initiate these programs, and then build capacity among local leadership to sustain and replicate them independently.
To remove systemic barriers to health, we provide marginalized students with training in community development and scholarships to pursue community-oriented college degrees. Our scholarship program equips youth with the skills and knowledge to be highly effective and impactful community leaders.
