San Rafael Project

Horacio and Selvin showcase on of the 10 gardens they've helped create

In the community of San Rafael, Horacio and Selvin set out to tackle the problems of malnutrition and poverty by helping community members grow their own crops.  Once a week, they visit 10 of their neighbors who signed on as participants in their project.  ”How much longer until the we harvest?” “When will the next round of seeds be delivered?” “What can we do to keep animals from eating our crops?”.  These are some of the many questions Horacio and Selvin answer with ease and confidence.  Their neighbors are reassured.  Not only are they helping their community, they are also coming to realize the leadership potential they have inside.
