Armando Raxcacò

Germán Armando Raxcacó is an Agronomist with an emphasis in Horticultural Sciences and currently serves as Executive Director of Voces y Manos. He is originally from the municipality of Rabinal, where he grew up deeply connected to his culture, strengthening from childhood his identity and the Maya Achí language at the Escuela Maya Jun Toj.

He completed his technical training at the Escuela de Agricultura del Nororiente in Zacapa and pursued a degree in Agricultural Engineering, completing the coursework accredited by Universidad Rafael Landívar. Alongside his studies, he collaborated with institutions such as the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food, the National Rural Development Program, and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, carrying out supervisory roles and providing support in community agricultural extension processes.

Throughout his career, he has promoted initiatives focused on sustainable rural development, climate resilience, and the strengthening of local capacities, integrating agroecological practices with the approach of Buen Vivir. His leadership is characterized by a commitment to his territory, interinstitutional coordination, and the promotion of participatory processes that contribute to improving the living conditions of rural communities in Rabinal.
