Despite having contributed among the least to causing climate change, Indigenous communities are among the most vulnerable to its impacts. Extreme drought and changing climate patterns are causing massive crop failures; meanwhile, a shift toward monocrop methods is poisoning the land and undermining Indigenous food sovereignty.
These changes are more than environmental: they threaten the future of Indigenous cultures and ways of life.
At Voces y Manos, we work hand-in-hand with Indigenous Maya-Achí farmers to revitalize agroecosystems and empower the next generation of farmers, protecting both the land and the rich traditions rooted in it.
